Professional Photo Wedding Photographer of the Year contest.

The winners of the fifth wedding category has been announced in a contest in which the overall winner will win an AsukaBook Zenbook and category winners also winning Asukabook individual prizes.

Fifth Category ‘Destination Weddings’ was won by Belinda Buxton.

I WAS PRIVILEGED to be commissioned to photograph a beautiful wedding at the Eden Project in Cornwall last September. McKayla and Steve had their heart set on marrying here and their dream came true. The ceremony took place in the Mediterranean dome on a beautiful sunny day, followed by the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. The Mediterranean dome is so beautiful, offering an abundance of photo opportunities, but I wanted to capture some images outside as well just as the sun was setting
in the grounds. This water feature, just outside the dome, made a perfect lead-in to McKayla and Steve, with the domes and beautiful sky in the background. One light was used camera left, just to pop enough light on the happy couple but not to interfere with the beautiful ambient light that was illuminating the scene. The whole day was an absolute joy and I was thoroughly spoilt for choice with photo opportunities.

Guest Judge Brett Florins:

Belinda’s control of light and thoughtful composition has resulted in an impactful image with a futuristic sense of mystery. The spaceage
shapes in the forest ensure great contrast and interest, with the couple representing hope and excitement for the future.
