PROFESSIONAL PHOTO HAS ALWAYS had a close relationship with wedding photography. So, it made complete sense for us to partner with Loxley Colour and Fujifilm Original Photopaper to launch our first ever Wedding Photographer of the Year competition last year. After six hard-fought rounds, we can finally name our overall winner: Natalie Martin from the Story of Love studio in the Scottish Borders. Many congratulations to Natalie! In this issue, you can read the story of how she got started, along with a report about the tour of the impressive Loxley Colour facilities, which took place the day after the awards dinner. The dinner, by the way, was an impressive demonstration of the camera-derie (ha!) that exists between wedding professionals, and it was refreshing to hear the sharing of stories and information – freely given to others seen as friends, instead of rivals. Our Wedding Special is the perfect issue to announce these results. Inside, we’re celebrating all aspects of this revitalised craft, from Marianne Chua’s quirky and amusing imagery in Moving to Mirrorless, through to tips on how to offer a wedding video service alongside stills, and a crash course in wedding workflow. For good measure we’re also looking at some of the gorgeous frames and albums you can offer your wedding clients, and we’ve also got a run-through of the insurance essentials you wouldn’t want to run a wedding business without. Enjoy the read and I hope you have a truly successful 2019 wedding season!
