TIPA 2022 Award Winners Announced!

The prestigious 2022 TIPA World Awards, voted on by a selection of top international magazine, including Professional Photo, have just been announced. Along with exciting cameras and lenses that cover a wide range of categories, from expert to professional, the 40 TIPA World Award winners represent the wide range of products and services that make up the imaging industry today, including cameras, lenses, inkjet papers and printers, imaging software, video, lighting, monitors, smartphones and more. 

Big winners this time around include Sony and Canon, who both celebrated an impressive five wins each, Nikon, which picked up three wins, including Best APS-C and Best Full Frame Professional Cameras and Tamron and Sigma, who each won two of the lens categories. Panasonic won two categories, including Best Professional 4K Hybrid camera for the GH6, OM System walked away with the Best MFT Award for the newly launched OM-1 while Fujifilm took the award for Best Medium Format Camera for the GFX 50S II.

The Japan Camera Journal Press Club also nominated a selection of honorees, who were:

• Lens Award: Sony FE 50mm F1.2 GM
• Readers’ Award: Nikon Z 9
• CJPC Editors’ Choice Technology Award: Canon EOS R3 (for Eye Control AF)
• CJPC Editors’ Choice R&D Award: Nikon Z fc (Z50 with ‘Nikon’s heritage’ for young people)
