Hybrid photographer, filmmaker and Olympus Ambassador Jimmy Cheng joined us to talk through the practicalities of tackling both disciplines from a professional perspective using an Olympus MFT mirrorless system. You can watch the video above.
Jimmy talked technique, sharing the secrets of great audio and giving us a run through of the bare basics that are required if a photographer is looking to add pro-spec motion to their mix. And he also told us what he’s been filming while stuck at home like the rest of us during lockdown.
Jimmy Cheng LRPS is a self-taught and award winning photographer and filmmaker. Given a film point and shoot camera when he was 13 from his mother, he developed an interest in recording the journey of life. This passion continued through his university days and his early part of career as an engineer.
Everything changed when he was contacted and subsequently interviewed and published by Business Insiders US and later with other publications on his travel documentary of China, he turned passion into profession. Quitting his 9-to-5, Jimmy became a creative content creator in both stills and video formats and continued to document the journey of life in various ways.
